Orbit Taxis runs wedding cars and guest shuttles to Cain Manor, an exclusive-use Tudor manor near Headley Down whose oak beams are said to be repurposed ship timbers. It holds one wedding at a time, seats 123 and takes up to 200 in the evening against eleven bedrooms, so we come in by Churt Road and stage the late-night taxi run back to Farnham and Liphook.

Cain Manor.

Cain Manor is run by Harper Weddings, the family-owned group formerly trading as Bijou Wedding Venues, and it is let on an exclusive-use basis so the house and grounds belong to one wedding for the day. Ceremonies run in the oak-framed Music Room or outdoors in the courtyard garden under the pergola and gazebo.

The approach

From Farnham the route is through Frensham and Churt, then right at the crossroads into Churt Road, along a winding narrow road with the entrance on the left. Do not follow a sat nav down Red Lane or the Land of Nod private road, because neither reaches the venue. There is parking on site and ramped access to the main spaces.

Planning the guest transport

Eleven bedrooms against 200 evening guests makes this one of the bigger late-night movements we handle, and it all goes out along the same narrow road. Because the venue runs one wedding at a time, the timings are yours alone, which makes staging the cars through the last hour straightforward once we have the numbers.

What couples and planners usually ask.

Can you reach Cain Manor via Red Lane or Land of Nod?

No, and this catches drivers out regularly. The venue states plainly that it is not accessible by Red Lane or by the private road at Land of Nod, but some sat navs still send you that way. The correct approach from Farnham is through Churt, then right at the crossroads into Churt Road.

How far is Cain Manor from Farnham?

About eight miles, roughly twenty minutes through Frensham and Churt. The last stretch is a winding narrow road with the entrance on the left.

How many guests will need a lift home?

Most of them. There are eleven bedrooms, including the Cain Suite, against an evening capacity of 200, so the great majority are travelling out at the end of the night.

Which station is nearest?

Liphook at about 3.3 miles, with Haslemere and Farnham both around eight. There is no usable public transport at the venue itself, which is why Farnham operators appear on the venue's own taxi list.
