Getting to
Bury Court Barn.

The barn was converted with its old oak beams kept alongside modern facilities, and the estate around it is genuinely working farmland rather than landscaped grounds. Its unusual feature is the courtyard garden designed by the Dutch designer Piet Oudolf in 1997, his first British commission, with clipped box and yew bays and two formal stone ponds.

The approach

Off the A31 at Bentley, then up small winding country lanes. The venue is clear that only the GU10 5LY postcode brings you in on the correct approach, so the address postcode is worth ignoring for navigation. Several of the bedrooms are in the converted Oast House, with the rest in courtyard pods.

Planning the guest transport

Fifteen rooms against a 200-guest reception means the bulk of the party is staying in Farnham, five to ten minutes away, and coming back down unlit lanes at midnight. Bentley station is closer but has no rank. Booking the returns in advance turns a scramble into a queue that moves.

Which postcode should a driver use?

GU10 5LY, not the address postcode. The venue itself advises this, because GU10 5LZ can route you in on the wrong approach through the lanes. It is the single most useful thing to tell a driver about Bury Court.

What time do guests need collecting?

Venue hire runs to midnight, which concentrates everything into a short window. Tell us the numbers in advance and we stage cars through the last half hour rather than leaving 150 people waiting in a courtyard.

How far is Bentley station?
