Crondall has a working centre with a shop, a school, a church and two pubs, and a conservation area protecting a dense cluster of listed buildings. The Domesday Book recorded the Crondall Hundred, and Winchester Cathedral held the manor here from 975 until 1861. No A road runs through it, so every approach is by lane.

Door to door, and the local landmarks

Every journey starts at your own door, so nobody has to walk to a meeting point. These are simply the places people name when they book, and the landmarks drivers navigate by. All Saints Church stands at the highest point of the village, a Grade I listed twelfth-century Norman building nicknamed the Cathedral of North Hampshire, and it is the usual landmark. We also run to The Plume of Feathers and the Hampshire Arms, to Crondall Primary on Croft Lane, and to the village hall and Hook Meadow.

What drivers watch for

Two naming traps are worth knowing. Crondall's own Dippenhall Street is a different place from the hamlet of Dippenhall near Farnham, and Oak Park Golf Club closed in 2021 but still appears in older listings. A postcode on booking settles both.

Which station should I use from Crondall?

It depends where you are going. Fleet and Winchfield are each about five miles but lie in the opposite direction from Farnham, which is also roughly five miles. Tell the dispatcher your destination and we will point you at the right one.

Careful with Dippenhall Street, isn't there also a Dippenhall?

There is, and it catches people out. Crondall has its own Dippenhall Street, while Dippenhall is a separate hamlet about a mile and a half to the south-east near Farnham. Give us the postcode and there is no confusion.

Can you pick up from the pubs in the village?

Yes. The Plume of Feathers, which is listed and dates from the 1600s, was restored under new stewardship in 2025, and the Hampshire Arms is about a hundred yards further on.

Is Oak Park Golf Club still open?

No, it closed in 2021, so it is not a destination we can take you to. Hook Meadow recreation ground and the village hall are the active community venues now.
