Key takeaways

  • Allow 50 to 60 minutes for the drive, then add 20 to 30 minutes of spare time.
  • North and South Terminals are separate buildings. Tell your driver which one you’re flying from.
  • Our fixed fare is the same for either terminal, with tolls and parking included.
  • Give us your flight number and we track it, so a late landing costs nothing extra.

How long does a Farnham to Gatwick taxi take?

Plan on 50 to 60 minutes for a Farnham to Gatwick taxi. The route takes the A31 to the M3, goes anticlockwise round the M25 south of London, then straight down the M23 into the airport. It’s almost all motorway, so the Farnham end never holds you up. The M25 is what moves the time.

Early starts usually beat the estimate, which is handy, because a lot of Gatwick flights from Farnham are early charter and holiday departures. For a Friday afternoon or a bank holiday weekend, though, give yourself more room than you think you need.

Working out your pickup time

  1. Find the time your airline wants you at the terminal. It’s on your booking, and it changes from airline to airline.
  2. Take off an hour for the drive.
  3. Take off another 20 to 30 minutes in case of traffic.

For example: if you need to be at the terminal by 06:00, leave Farnham at about 04:30. Give us the flight number when you book and we’ll check the time against the route.

North Terminal or South Terminal?

Gatwick has two terminals, North and South. They’re separate buildings joined by a shuttle, and your airline decides which one you use. Going to the wrong one means dragging your bags across to the other before you’ve even checked in.

  • Check your terminal on your booking or in your airline’s app, and check again the day before.
  • Tell your driver when you book. We take you to the door of the terminal you’re flying from, not to the shuttle.
  • The terminal doesn’t change our price. The fare is the same for North and South.

Coming home from Gatwick

Give us your flight number, not just the landing time. We track the flight, so if you land late the driver is already waiting and you don’t pay for the extra time. If you’d like to be met inside the terminal with a name board, ask for meet and greet when you book. Booking the return with the outward trip means the car is planned around your landing before you even leave home.

A lift from a friend, or a taxi?

A lift feels free, but it rarely is. Your friend drives about an hour each way to drop you off, then does it all again to collect you, usually paying for parking while they wait for your flight to land. If the flight is late, they wait longer.

With a fixed fare, none of that is your problem. Parking and any waiting for a late flight are already in the price, and nobody has to set an alarm for 3am on your behalf.

The night before you fly

Five minutes the evening before saves a lot of stress in the morning:

  • Check your terminal, North or South, in your airline’s app, in case anything has changed.
  • Confirm your pickup time and address with us, especially if you’re being collected somewhere other than home.
  • Send us your flight number if you haven’t already, for the trip home as well as the trip out.
  • Count the bags. If you’re taking more than you planned, tell us, so we can send a bigger car.
  • Keep your phone charged and with you, so the driver can reach you.
