The Church of the Holy Cross on Church Street is the usual landmark, a Grade I listed building begun around 1140 with a ring of six bells. Binsted C of E Primary and the Wickham Institute, the parish hall, are on the same street. Telegraph House, built in 1825 as an Admiralty semaphore relay station, is now a private home.

Bentley, about 1.8 miles north-east on the Alton line, is the nearest. Alton station is the other option, roughly four to five miles west.

Yes, and it is worth doing. The forest lies inside Binsted parish and its car park is known to fill at weekends and in school holidays, with visitors advised to arrive before half past ten or after half past two.
