Upper Hale grew quickly after 1854, when the Army established itself at Aldershot, and it merges seamlessly eastwards into Heath End and Weybourne with no real boundary on the ground. The A287 runs through it as Folly Hill and Upper Hale Road, heading north towards Ewshot, Crondall and Fleet.
